I’m Jemima Kiss, a writer and editor based in San Francisco
I've written about technology, media and culture since 2002. During my decade at the Guardian I led reporting teams in London and San Francisco, refocusing coverage on the human impact of technology. I managed a sparky team of staff reporters and commissioned a fleet of freelancers from philosophers and lawyers to arts writers, exploring issues in a way that made them accessible to everyone.
I’ve interviewed Sheryl Sandberg, Sergey Brin and Tim Berners-Lee, spoken at more than 50 conferences and judged digital arts prizes including the Tate and Artangel. I’ve carpooled with Robert Llewellyn, Seesmicked Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford, and printed algorithmic newspapers with artist Dan Catt.
Recent projects included using my roster of writers to help launch Medium’s OneZero technology magazine, developing editorial strategy for a crypto startup and a humanitarian aerospace company, and co-founding Hothouse, a climate-action newsletter.
My best work is collaborative, inventive and challenges established ways of doing things. I’m conscientious, thorough, and an extremely organised project manager. I care about what I do, and who I work with.
Since January 2021, I’ve had the privilege of working at LoveFrom with some of the world’s best designers and creatives.
I couldn’t be happier, or more grateful.
